Through help from our dedicated staff and donors, we've worked with thousands of New Americans who are now alumni of our Michigan refugee resettlement programs. We at Samaritas are so proud of our New American alumni and their accomplishments. We have dedicated this page to showcase the great things they're are up to after legally becoming American citizens.
MUSTAFA: Coming to America
Mustafa is an Iraqi refugee that worked alongside the US army in the Gulf war, serving as an interpreter. He was recently resettled in Grand Rapids, MI where he hopes to find a new job, new friends, and peaceful living.
Flory, Elodie, Abigael, and Benedicte: Coming to America
While fleeing as refugees from Congo, Flory and Elodie were separated from their 2 children for 5 years. With help from the American Red Cross and LSSM, the children were rescued and resettled in Grand Rapids, MI a few years ago and have been living happily ever since 🙂
Albert Yousif: From Refugee to Living the American Dream
Albert Yousif of A2Z Facility Maintenance in Troy, Michigan resettled here in the United States after fleeing from Iraq in 1993. Since then, he has gone on to own two commercial cleaning companies in the metro Detroit area. Watch to see how Albert is using his success to give back to the country he is so proud to call his new home.
