Feed the Soul: Care, Comfort & Connection Through Food

What began as a simple phone call about donating leftover food quietly grew into something much bigger.
Four years ago, Reva Constantine was looking for a place to ensure food from her events wouldn’t go to waste. That search led her to Samaritas’ Westland Family Center and to a partnership rooted in generosity, dignity, and care. That first year, Reva provided Christmas dinner for families staying at the shelter. Almost immediately, she felt called to do more.
Christmas dinner turned into gifts for children and parents. Gifts turned into coats, clothing, and toys. What started as a one-time gesture became an annual commitment to showing families that they are seen, valued, and cared for, especially during the holidays.
Reva Constantine Events is a catering and event company built on the idea of approachable elegance — thoughtful, beautifully prepared food designed to bring people together. Food has always been central to Reva’s life, inspired by her mother and the way meals created connection, celebration, and belonging.
As Reva puts it, “Food has always been how we connect, celebrate, and show love.”
That belief extends into everything she does. Reva works alongside her husband, children, family, and friends, making service a shared experience. Each year, her own children help shop for and wrap gifts for families at the Family Center — a tangible way of passing on her values.
“Feeding people is intimate… it’s care, comfort, and connection all in one,” Reva says. “Knowing that a meal can make someone feel seen or supported is incredibly fulfilling.”
Her generosity reaches far beyond the holidays. Reva donates all leftover food from her events to Make Food Not Waste, contributing m
ore than 2,000 pounds of food last year alone, ensuring meals continue to nourish families throughout the community.
Reva was drawn to Samaritas because of its commitment to meeting people where they are, with dignity and compassion. Supporting families through the Family Shelter and Family Center programs — especially during times of transition — aligns deeply with her personal and professional values.
And this partnership is only growing. Last year, Reva provided each child at the Family Center with a coat and toys. This year, she hopes to expand that support to include boots, clothing, and other gifts—a lasting commitment to families who need it most.
At Samaritas, we are proud to partner with Reva Constantine Events. Her belief in family, connection, and generosity mirrors our own. Together, we are strengthening families, building community, and reminding one another that sometimes the most meaningful impact begins with a shared meal.
